An 87-year-old woman collapses. Lucky for her, she’s in a skilled nursing facility with trained personnel all around her. Unfortunately for her, the nursing home’s policy is to call 911, but the staff is not allowed to perform CPR on her. Not. Allowed.
The 911 operator pleads with the nurse who called, but to no avail. No CPR is given, and the woman dies.
The nursing home, Glenwood Gardens, in Bakersfield, California, actually defended their nurse’s actions.
