…for voting–unanimously– to elect Hakam Daley their Homecoming King. Hakam has spend much of his life in foster homes and suffers from cerebral palsy and learning disabilities. This young man is wheelchair dependent but is an honor roll student.
The students of Centennial High School are all heros in my book–each and every one of them–for looking past this student’s disabilities and focusing on his achievements instead. We can all take a lesson here.
I’m proud to have this high school in my home town, and proud to have these kids in my community. Bravo.
